Another extended cut from Pure Trance Vol. 6, this time we get a full-throttled reimaging of Gai Barone’s recent chic-sampling outing on Pure Progressive Lost In Music – courtesy of Welsh trance / tech-trance producer Will Rees. Will has been particularly productive of late with stand-out releases on labels such as Subculture, Kearnage, Damaged and Outburst Twilight. Storming along at 140bpm Will’s version fuses adrenaline-charged acidic sequences, pulsing riffs and enough snare rolls to please the changing guard at Buckingham Palace. Will thankfully includes plenty of stems from Barone’s atmospheric original, so the sonic textures are firmly in place, but puts his own stamp on proceedings by additionally manipulating the midi to his own sonic palette.
