This is something absolutely brilliant from Sam Mitcham, nestled in to a powerful 134 bpm groove it is one of those tracks perfect for DJs building from progressive to more uplifting trance. No clichés here, the production and sounds are very distinctive, a sultry female vocal makes a brief appearance, the drums are punchy and the riffs solid and memorable. The best bit though is the extended final third of the record; an incessant synth groove creates gripping tension, locking you in – justifying every moment of ‘Amarula’s +9 minute span.
