German duo ARCHERY — Tom Johnson & Sebastien Fournier — are part of a new generation reshaping trance from the underground up. Drawing on the house grooves and trance energy of the early-to-mid ’90s, they channel those influences into something fresh, contemporary and very much their own. KEEP IT GOIN’ hooks us in from the off with its vocal snatch. Stabs & grooves that recall artists like Aquarius (who remixed Space Kittens’ ‘Storm’ in ’96) and The Shaker’s ‘Mooncat’ (from ’94) take us forward. A nice surprise is the understated Balearic guitar-plucked breakdown, and then back into that groove all the way.
