Marcus Schossow & Matthew Felner are gardenstate (small g). Schossow is of course a man whose production & DJ credentials need no introduction. Felner is widely known in industry circles as one of the men behind the New York promoter powerhouse Esscala. What they share is a love of subterranean, brooding grooves fused with infectious yet understated melodies. Their debut release ‘Charon’ on Statement showcased their sound and received support from DJs across the progressive house, melodic techno and trance spectrum such as Sander van Doorn, Ruben de Ronde, and of course Solarstone. ‘Blur’ is an acidically shimmering 125bpm helping of percussively crisp, reverb-soaked hi-hat galloping metallic clap echoing deliciousness, saturated in melting bass tones and a perpetually evolving hypnotic anodyne arpeggiated lead.
